HB61 - Target Motor

Postby mike crossman » Sun Jul 17, 2005 4:57 am

Gentlemen good day... I have had a 1991 Glf War KB61 for some years and decided to re work it , as it has little compression as obtained. I have stripped it, cleaned it and read the tech info on the site... but, it has NO PISTON RINGS... just a darker piston top. Which version do I need to buy to replace the liner and piston assembly ?.

I also see a collet type arrangement to the prop driver, how do I remove this to get the crank out ? Thanks !

This has a dykes ring that is stuck in the groove. You need to look very carefully and you will find the ring end gap. You will probably have to heat the piston up to 300 degrees and push an exacto knife between the gap to get it loose.
