Veco 19 GP BB RC

Postby XMoney » Tue May 04, 2010 1:25 pm

Hello, Am new to the forum. I am needing a little help on a Veco 19 GP BB RC . I think this was an engine that was in a car or boat. It came with a big drive pulley, and carb installed with the throttle lever that closes on the exhaust port. My question is : Can this engine be used in aero ? It has a mount that is over the nose of the engine and it has a bearing in it and, it has a set of mtg. holes in it. Can anyone help me out. I can take a few pictures of it if needed. Thanks, Jeff

This is an early plain bearing Veco 19. It is an airplane enigne. It looks like you have a prop driver in the picture. All you need is a prop nut and washer.

I really appreciate the info on the engine. Are you talking about the little 2 piece bearing assy in the photos? If that is the driver , where can I get the washer and nut ? Can I order thru you? What do think about using the engine? It does have good compression. The NVA looks like new. Are there parts available? I did not see any listing on the site . Since some one ground the webs on the crankcase to fit that nose support for the extra mtg. holes, will that weaken the crankcase? I am going to start this engine soon and would like to mount on a plane I am currently working on. Thanks, Jeff
