K&B .61 Rear Bearing

Postby jaejon465 » Wed Jan 27, 2010 1:36 pm

Rebuilding my .61 sq. carb and put the rear bearing in opposite way of what old one came out. Seal is to rear and open bearings toward front bearing, will this make any difference?

Shouldn't even have a seal. If the bearing is sealed there is no way for the oil to get to the front bearing.

I can only answer if you are refering to original equipment K&B bearing.

The K&B bearings have a high speed racing nylon retainer which may be mistaken for a seal. If you look closely you will see it is not a seal. It can be installed either direction.
