Methyl Ethyl Keytone (MEK) AND k&B Bearings.

Postby goonybird1 » Mon Sep 22, 2008 11:26 am

Are there any materials in my K&B .61 Model 6550 BEARINGS that can be harmed by the use of MEK? Does MECOA/K&B offer a puller to remove the Drive Washer from this engine?

Thanks,
Mike

MEK should not harm the bearing retainer. The crankshaft must be pressed out through the crankcase. We don't make a puller.

Thanks for your response MECOA! I followed your instructions after cleaning the engine in anti-freeze followed with some MEK. Oiled and reassembled. It runs beautifully! Thanks again for your help
