I bought an never been used 3.5 outboard, the owner said he got it in 1988. It has no pressure tap on lower unit. Any reason I can't drill & tap one? No hole in top housing for lubing top bearing. It has a black carb. Engine looks new inside & out. I think the motor is a 8907 model. There a # 0--8221 on the crankcase mounting bracked.

The original 3.5cc outboards didn't have the hole in the upper plate of the lower unit to lube the bearings/drive shaft and we all just drilled our own.
