Outboard Timing

Postby winzracing » Sat Sep 01, 2007 11:27 pm

Hi...Does anyone know how to change the timing on outboards...I believe when fitting a tuned pipe the engines timing has to be changed...Apparently running a stock engine on a tuned pipe dosent do much if the timing hasnt been changed???? Thanx for any info anyone has

There is no need to alter the motor in any way when using a tuned pipe like an Irwin or similar.

I've never done any internal mods as I preferred reliability over outright power and I have no answers for you, sorry. I've seen a few 3.5cc motors with the pistons and sleeves machined for awesome power but never did find out what the guy did.
