Will this P/L fit my 8907?

Hello,

Can you please view the photo of these two pistons/liner sets and tell me...

I have two piston/liners for my 8907, but only one seems to match the parts existing in my current engine. Is the liner in the picture with the square ports intended for my 8907 outboard, or is this liner for a different K&B engine? I bought the p/l from another model boater, told it was for a .21 K&B outboard.

Through the years both styles were used in all engines. We use the one with the square taller ports in the SS and SX and the one with the raised center in the 8907. Both will work in either engine but the one with the square posts is pipe timing and will produce higher RPM with the right exhaust system.

It seems that my wrist pin with the teflon pad does not slip into the piston matched with the square ports. Is this remedied by simply de-burring the recess for the wrist pin until it fits, or is this piston designed for a different wrist pin?

It should fit, the pin never changed.
