K&B 6.5cc #9001 rear rotor engine replacement Carburator

Postby agalinko » Wed Jan 03, 2007 11:19 am

hello, I have an older New old stock K&B 6.5CC #9001 Rear rotor rear exhaust engine which has a control line carb in place now. I want to replace the control line carb with that of a RC carburator. The bore is .436, Does MECOA's new DF 9101 engine have the same carb? Is the original carb still available (new old stock) ? I called Perry Pumps, they have a medium size carb that will fit in the bore but he is not sure it that will supply enough air and fuel for this engine. Any help or direction on where to go would be greatly appreciated.
thank you

The lastest carb won't fit

Use the 80-8903 carb -- it has a .437 neck is almost the same as the original.

Thank you for the reply. The part number you recommend is for a 3.5 in board boat engine? my motor is a 6.5cc? Are you sure this carburator is big enough?

thank you

Yes it is actually too big for the 3.5 but guys like to use it anyway.

The throat is .345 dia which is fine for a 6.5
