K&B 7.5 Model 9100 Manual/Parts List

Postby pdmarsh » Sat Feb 25, 2006 5:08 pm

I have a pair of what I believe are model 9100 engines--front carb, rear exhaust port. Is a manual with parts list available for this engine? Indeed, are parts still available? Also, the previous owner retrofitted these with OS carbs. While I assume these will work, do you recommend a carb of your own for peak performance, or will the OS carbs work just as well, or better? (Sorry, non-PC question, perhaps. I assume the previous owner thought so, or wouldn't have done the retrofit.) Also, the crankcase has been ported. I intend to use Perry pumps connected to these pressure taps. Any problems I should be aware of?

If the manual is not available, can I use the 9101 manual for glow plug, fuel and other operating recommendations?

I really appreciate any info you can provide.

Thanks,

9101 is close enough. The OS carbs should work fine. Make sure you don't have any air leaks. Most of the 7.5 parts interchange.

Here are all the 7.5 parts

Remote Needle Setup

Postby JMock » Sun Jan 06, 2008 6:53 pm

I recently picked up a 9100 with a Perry Carb setup and was curious about setting it up with a remote needle assembly. Is there a screw that blocks the current needle valve setup? I'd really prefer to block the hole because that would allow the motor to mount better. You can see one made for O.S. engines in the picture from this link.

Also I noticed you offer two remote needle valve setups for this engine, is there one that is more favorable or are they pretty much the same. Thank you for the help.

No block off screw. Our newer remote needle 985-002 is better.

missing part

Postby JMock » Thu Jan 24, 2008 9:52 pm

In regards to a 7.5DF 9100 are there supposed to be two collets that go around the prop shaft? This motor came with three different ones but I think only one is correct and I'm actually missing the one that covers the bearings. The prop shaft is actually reversed (threaded rod that screws into engine making prop shaft) if that makes a difference. If there are supposed to be two, what is the correct part number and can I order one? Thanks for your time

Which one do I need?

Postby JMock » Thu Jan 31, 2008 1:30 pm

Alright, got the part description it's the prop drivers. I just need to know which one I need for the 9100. I have the front one, I just need the rear one closer to the bearings. Which part do I need to order 20-4801 or 20-8702. I'd appreciate the help.

Probably the 20-8702 unless you buy the 19-6101 collet then you can use either.
