Has anyone found a metal replacement for the crappy plastic backplate on this engine?

Thanks, 8)

Why do you need a replacement? They seem to work fine unless you have a raging pit fire!

The original engine when it was first produced had a cast alloy back plate so should fit. The MVVS D7 alloy plate definately fits, I have used one. Super tigre & Rossi look the same too so would not be surprised if they fit also.I seem to remember this engine now being produced with blue anodising on the head & prop driver and advertised as having aluminium backplate. Am I correct ?

Thanks TG, I saw the engine on another web site and it looks like an aluminum back plate. I'll get one on order.

The plastic one I have doesn't leak but, looking at the rough gasket surface makes me want to find something better.

I still don't know if the diesel version is ABC or not, I don't think it is. I wonder if I could retro fit a Nelson diesel head on the ABC glow version?

Hey Giffy

As far as I know all of the diesel P/L's were Iron/Steel. I hava an ABC P/L from the Glow engine. It uses the same bore and stroke as the Rossi mk 2's and 3's, so you'd have to modify one of Henry's diesel heads to make it work.

Cheers, Les
